We went trough 2 PPB 330s and after a month or 2 of use each of them stated to develop trouble with the carborator. This is our 3rd one and same as the others developed same problem after short time of useage. It floods itself and is unstartable. (Had it prof. looked at) We are in the process of getting a replacement carburator for it since we have been unalble to use it since last year.Bought a Stiehl which has been working great. However want to repair the poulan PPB 33o and hope to be able to get some use out of it. Maybe it was a bad batch....but everyone we had , followed direction to a tee, developed same problem with carborator. I would not recommend unless that problem was corrected with the newer models

Comment:
We've had the Poulan Pro PPB300E/straight shaft, for over 4 years; it's been very dependable, reliable, versatile & durable. It came with attachments such as the brushcutter & adapter for tree trimmer. No problem putting it up for the winter & getting it going for the spring(you should follow the directions for winterizing it & using stabilizer in stored gas). Only recently did it not start & after investigating found the gas line inside the gas tank became brittle & detached from the fuel pickup mechanism inside the tank. Biggest problem is finding another gas line to replace the broken one. I can easily replace it once I find the right size line. I found the spark plug & carburetor were very clean even after several years of use/abuse. I learned with this problem how well engineered this tool is; very easy to service & maintain. It uses unleaded gas/low octane without any problems. Line size is .115 inches. Engine very powerful & it would wear out the line quickly. I tried finding a plastic line thicker than that but no luck so found out I could double the line & it works great & lasts through a complete yard trimming with medium high weeds. We use the trimmer 1 to 2 times a week during the spring & summer months. My wife likes to use it because it starts easily & has a comfortably padded shoulder strap & is well balanced. If the newer model PPB330 is even a little more improved, I would recommend this product, as it is fairly priced & a solid purchase.

I was extremely disappointed it. I went through two in 30 days. You get what you pay for in life.

My main complaints are that it is difficult to start/run and vibration. I followed the directions to the letter and it never started on the third pull. Once it started it ran rather well until it dies. I understand some throttles are touchy and over time anyone can adapt to it. I tried but it should not take three to four pulls for it to start when it is hot.
Furthermore, the vibration caused by the motor is unacceptable. All in all, it was a disappointment. i ended up with a husqvarna and love it. It is rated lower than this product by consumer reports. From my experience CR got it wrong.
